Yan Mowatt is the proud owner of Little Moe’s K9 Academy.Yan got her start working along side her father “Big Moe” in the family boarding kennels where she developed a keen interest in animal behaviour and training which led her to seek out professional teaching to further expand her skills.
Brian has raised collies under the Bannerstone prefix since 1974. Throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Brian has been asked to judge countless all breed Sanction and Fun matches and Sweeps for Collies and Shepherds in Canada and the USA.
Jessica Tighe joined the team at the same time she finished her undergraduate in animal science at Dalhousie here in Truro. She lives with her boyfriend Aaron and 3 dogs, Pinot, Jagger, and Ella. Jessica recently began competing in dog sports with her own as well as some client’s dogs.
Caitlin joined Little Moes the summer of 2021.
Her love for animals started when she was little riding horses and playing with the cats in the hayloft. From there her love grew tremendously. She has been in the animal industry for almost 10 years having worked at humane societies, training & breeding facilities, pet stores and has graduated Animal Care with honours from Sheridan College.
Sue has come to us all the way from Winnipeg MB. where she was well loved and established in the professional pet grooming industry for the past 16+ yrs. Sue takes great pride to ensure all clients, owners and their pets, receive professional service with care and compassion.
Monica Sani moved to Truro to pursue Plant Sciences at NSAC in 2000 and continued her studies as a practicing Clinical Herbalist. Monica lives in North River with her three dogs, Zeus, Roma and Dexter. She enjoys hiking, swimming and gardening with all of her dogs.
Aaron stared with us at the beginning of 2021 to take over the office duties here at Little Moe’s. Aaron comes from 10 years of retail experience, 5 of those being on the management team. Originally from Dartmouth, Aaron moved to Truro a few years back. Growing up Aaron loved playing sports and tried to be outside as much as possible. One of the things he loves about living the Truro area is never being too far from a trail.
Natasha has worked with Yan off and on through the years and while she now works full time for the Department of Agriculture, she really missed working with Yan and with the dogs. So, in 2019 she came back on as one of Yan’s part-time staff, helping out when she can on the weekends. Natasha lives in Truro with her partner and daughter and their 4 pets (2 cats, 2 dogs). One of Natasha’s favorites things to do is to take her Labrador retriever on weekend hiking adventures when she’s not working at Little Moe’s that is
