“We took our 5 month old golden retriever to the K-9 academy with the hopes to starting him on the road to being the kind of dog that people say “wow…what a beautiful well mannered dog” when they leave our house. 3 Weeks in and we are on our way! The facility is awesome and he loves when we pull into the driveway. Yan is a “say-it-like-it -is” kind of teacher who isn’t afraid to say…you are doing it wrong, try it this way…..which we really needed lol!! She has succeeded in teaching us the skills to make our boy everything we could want in a dog.”

“Abbey is our 1.5 year old Havenese. Since she has been going to the Personal Touch once per week she is a changed little dog! She was so shy and very timid. The first day she wouldn’t leave Yan’s side let alone look at another dog. Yan encouraged me to keep bringing her back and I’m so glad I did. Yan and her staff have let Abbey take her time and with the help of lots of treats and praise has built Abbey’s confidence up enough that she loves agility and working obedience. She can’t wait to get out of the car every Tuesday morning to be with Yan and her staff and all her new doggy friends. Also love that the girls video Abby and I can share it with her friends and family as they can’t believe it’s the same little dog.“

“Carter was 10 weeks old when we went to Little Moe’s “Personal Touch” He was a cute little rottie pup with a very large attitude !I had heard that you just did not drop your dog and he hung out for the day,I had heard he would be socialized and worked with,so even though it was a 60 minute drive there and back for us we made the trip weekly. After our first month he started to become a nicer and much happier dog! We than took obedience classes with Yan and he was happy to please both her and I. Carter is now 9 months old and has become a loving silly rottie!.. However he had a terrible accident last week ,the result a broken pelvis. He is a darling ,the vets were impressed at what a good boy he was while being examined and xrayed. I credit that to the love he receives from us and the training and care he received from you,Yan . : )).. Carter will return to Little Moe’s after he has healed for his next level of obedience and to spend a day or two a month with Yan and her staff! I highly recommed anyone to take their puppy/dog to Little Moe’s K9 Acedemy! ”

“I have known Yan Mowatt for eight years and have had the pleasure of working with her and for her. I own one of her pups from her kennel who is now seven years old, intelligent, and has great temperament. I also own two rescue dogs that came with problem behaviours. With Yan’s knowledge and kind training methods they have become good dogs. All three of my dogs attend the Personal Touch School one day a week at Little Moe’s K9 Academy and they love it. They start getting all excited soon as we turn off Pictou Rd, heading to the Academy. When I go on vacation my dogs stay with Yan at her home and I know my dogs are well taken care of. When anyone asks me who I would recommend for anything to do with a dog I always recommend Yan. Yan is excellent with dogs.“

“We first met Yan almost four years ago when a good friend gave us a nine month old German shepherd pup, Daily. As we had never had a dog before we started having problems almost immediately! Our friend referred us to Yan at the K9 Academy. She was quick to tell us the problem was not the dog but us! She always tells it like it is and if you take the time to listen she’s right! We started taking obedience classes then agility. Yan has been a constant source of support from the beginning and her knowledge, commitment and connection to the dogs never ceases to amaze me! The new K9 Academy is fantastic! Its bright, always clean and she has the most wonderful and enthusiastic staff. Daily goes there for Personal Touch training on a regular basis and I am happy to say she is always EXTREMELY excited to go! It makes me happy that we are continuing with her training and not just dropping her off for ‘daycare’. In our opinion whatever your dog related needs/issues may be Yan and staff will be able to help and be happy to do so. You can’t go wrong with Little Moe’s K9 Academy!“

“Yan has been invaluable to us in raising our German shepherd, as his trainer and breeder. She is helpful in assisting us with issues we encounter inside and outside of class. With every issue that has come up she has able to give us direction. We started with Puppy Kindergarten and haven’t looked back. Crixus is 10 months old and Yan is still worth the drive!“
