Yan Mowatt
Over 4 decades of experience working with dogs of every type and breed.
Yan Mowatt is the proud owner of Little Moe’s K9 Academy, a name drawn from her first kennel name… Little Moe’s. Yan got her start working along side her father “Big Moe” in the family boarding kennels where she developed a keen interest in animal behaviour and training which led her to seek out professional teaching to further expand her skills.
For Yan Mowatt, Little Moe’s K9 Academy is not just her job, it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong passion.
Continued experience & commitment.
Yan’s preferred method of training, known as Operant Conditioning Behaviour Analysis, was first taught to her by Scientist Bob Bailey who is an expert in the field. Over the past 40+ years working with dogs of every type and breed, Yan has become an expert in this technique and has used it to put many national and international championship and obedience titles on her dogs.
Recognizing the need and obvious rewards of a well trained dog, Yan opened Little Moe’s K9 Academy where she and her highly qualified staff educate people and their dogs using the four aspects of this technique – Shaping, Capturing, Luring, and Moulding.
Highly Educated Staff
Today, Yan is recognized as an expert in her field and is a familiar face at the PABA seminars, among others, at Guelph University. With a life long commitment to excellence in her field, Yan continues to expand her skills through seminars by such highly renowned figures as Dr. Miranda Logan B. Agr.Sc. DVM , and Sophia Yin.
By combining years of real world experience with the latest in new research, methodologies, and techniques; Yan Mowatt ensures her clients at Little Moe’s K9 Academy are receiving the very best training available anywhere.
